Goto matching char

Hey there,
the m key selects a sequence enclosed by matching characters, however I often want to go to the matching char if I have the cursor on one of the characters defined by the option marching_pairs without changing my selection.

Can you help me achieve this? I thought about something using eval -draft, but I`m unsure how to proceed.

Thanks in Advance,
Anton

not sure what you mean by “without changing my selection”.

if you mean you want to extend your current selection then M and <a-M>.

if you mean add a cursor at the location of the matching character then you can do that by saving the current selection with Z, performing the changes you want then restoring the original with <a-z>a. Alternatively make your changes in draft mode, save them to a register and then use <a-z>a to append them to your current ones.
