How to copy/cut/paste in kakoune?

I am new to kakoune and i don’t know how to copy/cut/paste in it.Who can tell me

Within Kakoune itself, you can select some text and press y (for “yank”) to copy it, or d (for “delete”) to cut it, and then p (for “paste”) to paste it — same as in Vim or vi.

If you want to copy and paste between Kakoune and some other application, that gets a bit trickier, because Kakoune runs inside a terminal, and terminals generally don’t provide access to the system clipboard for security reasons. See Registers & Clipboard on the wiki for more information about that.
