I came across this blog that adds a modal editing layer on top of X. I think this is a cool idea. I love modal editing and I’m sure the community also does love it. And modal editing has ruined me. I frequently see myself tying jjjj or kkkk or :wq and likes on online websites when I’m commenting. So, sometimes I wish that I could get my modal editing everywhere on my operating system.
And that blog above describes one such way, and of course, it is for Vi-bindings. I want to discuss about it and can we as a community do something similar but with kak-bindings. I mean, it won’t be as powerful as kakoune, but we can atleast use get a familiar editing interface outside kakoune.
